CPDA Announces New Vice President of Government Relations

Marking continued growth and to further advocacy efforts, the Council of Producers and Distributors of Agrotechnology (CPDA) has announced Andrew Walmsley as Vice President of Government Relations. In this role, Andrew will be responsible for fulfilling the mission and vision of the CPDA Board of Directors in solving member challenges and ensuring members’ freedom to operate in the areas of state, federal government, and regulatory affairs.

Andrew comes to CPDA with over 18 years of experience in government relations. During his career, he has managed state and federal government affairs, working with legislators, regulators, and stakeholders to advance public policy. Previously, he served as the Senior Director of Government Affairs for the American Farm Bureau Federation where he managed Farm Bureau’s farm policy team to include energy, climate, transportation, and biotechnology issues. His work included regulatory relief for farmers and ranchers and securing Farm Bureau priorities in multiple pieces of legislation that were eventually enacted into law, including the last three Farm Bills. He has previously been named a Washington, D.C. “Top Lobbyist’ by The Hill magazine. Andrew is a sixth-generation Floridian and graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Agricultural Operations Management.

CPDA continues to rely on the expertise and guidance of Jay Vroom, Senior Advisor and Scott Rawlins, former CPDA Director of Government Affairs, who will now serve as a Senior Advisor.
