2015 Product Of The Year Voting
For the eighth year running, CropLife IRON is once again honoring this year’s Product of the Year. Below you will find descriptions of the 2015 finalists, picked from reader feedback via e-mails and comments made at the many industry trade shows and equipment-oriented events. Voting is now closed. The Product of the Year award will be announced at one of this winter’s trade shows.

Description: The Edge features precise boundary spreading which allows operators to apply materials along a boundary line, resulting in less material in sensitive areas with the flip of a switch. Featuring increased gate openings, the Edge with MultApplier insert can reach higher rates, application speeds and widths. The MultiBin is also available for spreading up to four products in one pass. The unit is equipped with an ISOBUS system for easy “plug-and-play” for standardized plugs, cables and software for use with any compatible controller.

Description: Staying true to GVM’s focus on mechanical power and dependability, the GVM Mako is driven by a Tier 3 Cummins 130-hp engine mated to an Allison automatic 5-speed transmission for optimal power. The Mako is small, stable, and nimble, featuring a 400-gallon product tank, multiple boom options, 46 inches of crop clearance, a light footprint, 22 mph road speeds and a tight turning radius. Booms for the Mako are 60 feet wide and made of aluminum.

Description: The 660-gallon-capacity Patriot 2250 sprayer features a Case IH FPT 6.7-L engine rated at 175-hp and peaks at an impressive 190-hp. Best of all, Case IH Efficient Power frees the engine to produce more raw power and torque with less fuel while meeting Tier 4 B/Final requirements. A variety of options, including a new front-fill design and advanced radio features, allows greater customization to suit each operation’s unique needs. Boom choices include 60/80 feet or 60/90 feet and feature a parallel-link attachment for a wide range of heights.
