A to Z: Photo Highlights From the 2024 National Farm Machinery Show
The National Farm Machinery Show (NFMS) has long been considered the largest indoor farm show in America, with more than 800 exhibitors and about 1.2 million square feet of exhibit space inside the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville. The estimated economic impact of the 2024 NFMS makes it the sixth largest for Louisville events at $24.2 million. Estimated attendance was more than 300,000 with visitors from every corner of North America and notable international attendees from nearly a dozen countries including the Republic of Korea, France, and Argentina.

A - AI
Artificial Intelligence (AI) was a hot topic in 2023 and that has continued into the new year. At the 2024 National Farm Machinery Show (NFMS), Trimble Ag showcased its Bilberry smart spraying system for the first time in the U.S. As the green-on-green complement to Trimble’s green-on-brown solution, WeedSeeker2, a farmer can now reduce herbicides and spray by up to 90%. B - BBI MagnaSpread Plus+
Salford’s BBI MagnaSpread Plus+ combines the use of one spreader to maximize both fertilizer and lime application widths, saving you time and money. The unit has the capacity to spread dry fertilizer up to 120’ and lime up to 60’ – all with one machine.

F - Fendt Rogator 900 Series
The Fendt Rogator 900 Series was once again a popular stop for NFMS attendees. This self-propelled, rear-mounted boom applicator features one-button adjustable height and the ability to transform between liquid, dry pneumatic, and dry spinner delivery systems in as little as two hours. The unit was also equipped with the EZ-Drops Nutrient Delivery System (pictured).

G - Gift & Craft Market
Along with the show floor, attendees shopped at the popular Gift & Craft Market where they could find toys, trinkets, apparel, and more.

H - Hays LTI
The Hays 24-ton tender is designed around specific customer needs to make it one of the most user-friendly tenders on the market. Both the 24-ton two- (pictured) and three-compartment tenders also feature the well-known “Hays Standards,” including greater hopper slope and lower trailer weight.

I - International Harvester
Several pieces of Classic Iron were on display at the 2024 NFMS, including this 1975 International Harvester 1566 at the Craigmyle Farm Equipment booth.

J - John Deere
Perhaps the biggest draw at the NFMS each year is the John Deere exhibit. At the 2024 show, attendees learned from experts about a variety of products, technology, and solutions. The company shared the exhibit with Wright Implement, a certified John Deere dealer serving Kentucky and Indiana.

K - Kinze 5670 Planter
For the 2025 planting season, Kinze Manufacturing is introducing the new 5670 pivot fold, split row model planters. Using the latest and best in technology and performance-boosting features, the 5670 delivers enhanced productivity, increased operator convenience and efficient serviceability.

L - LPX Lite Treater from USC
The LPX Lite Treater from USC drew a lot off attention from NFMS attendees. LPX with U-Treat Lite automation uses the latest in industrial software and hardware to collect and analyze live data to make accurate, real-time treating adjustments. With automated start, run and end sequences, runs are highly repetitive, eliminating the opportunity for mistakes.

Outback Guidance showcased precision ag solutions at the 2024 NFMS, including its MaveriX terminals. These units feature 7- and 10-inch high-definition touch screens with pinch-to-zoom capability and a new user interface for intuitive handling and customer experience.

P - Pivot Bio
Sustainability was on full display at the 2024 NFMS. Companies like Pivot Bio were showcasing solutions that are helping growers become better stewards of the land, water, and climate. Pivot Bio PROVEN 40 consistently and efficiently replaces up to 40 pounds per acre of synthetic fertilizer while maintaining yields.

Q - Quiet Cabs
One of the most overlooked equipment features for operators is the cab itself. Manufacturers are continuing to focus on creating a comfortable, ergonomically designed cab with maximum visibility. Another feature that has become a must for applicators working long hours is a cab that is quiet as possible. Pictured here is a cab from Case IH, which was easily accessible to attendees at the 2024 NFMS.

R - RBR Enterprise
Venturi 430 (pictured) and the Vector 390 from RBR Enterprise were among the applicators on display at the 2024 NFMS. The Venturi boasts 90-foot booms, while the Vector offers 440-cubic-foot capacity.

S - Seed and Crop Protection
The NFMS has a reputation for being all about the equipment. And rightfully so. Nearly every major line of farming equipment was on display, allowing attendees to compare products side by side. But just as the agricultural industry has evolved over the last 50 years, so too has the NFMS. Equally present at the show was the crop input side of farming. From Corteva to Syngenta (pictured), the latest in seed and crop protection technology dotted the exhibit halls of the NFMS.

T - Traction Ag
Traction Ag was once again a popular stop for NFMS attendees, where they heard about the company's leading farm management software and its accounting-first system that seamlessly connects actual numbers to specific fields and crops.

U - Unverferth
Unverferth Manufacturing showcased its extensive portfolio of equipment brands at the 2024 NFMS, including its Pro-Force Fertilizer Application Products. The Pro-Force lineup of dry fertilizer, compost, poultry litter, and cover crop spreaders feature operator-friendly innovations, top-of-the-line performance, heavy-duty components, and can spread up to four products at the same time with variable rate.

V - Vortex CSD
Harvest International unveiled its latest innovation at the 2024 NFMS: the Vortex CSD. The Vortex CSD is a completely redesigned seed delivery plenum that improves two major problems experienced with central seed delivery systems on planters across the industry: the necessity of jumpers on high row configurations, and the inconsistent distribution of seed within a single plenum and across tanks on a dual bin system.

W - Wright Implement
Wright Implement, a certified John Deere dealer serving Kentucky and Indiana, offered young attendees a chance to try the Mean Green Machine in the Billy Murphy Memorial Pedal Pull.

X - XAG P100 Drone
The XAG P100 Drone from Pegasus Robotics was a huge hit among attendees at the 2024 NFMS. The fully autonomous unmanned aerial system can help farmers with seeding, crop spraying and fertilization.

Y - 360 Yield Center
From 360 Bandit to 360 Y-Drop, 360 Yield Center showcased a wide range of products at the 2024 NFMS. One of the more popular solutions among attendees was 360 RAIN (pictured). By delivering bands of water directly to the base of the plant, 360 RAIN provides advantages over traditional irrigation methods. With a 60-foot boom, the machine applies water through Y-DROP style hoses. Up to 2,900 feet of 3-inch diameter hose is dispense by a computer-controlled reel. The machine moves up and down the crop rows as the well-tethered reel dispenses and retrieves hose.

Z - Zero Down Time
NFMS spans 1.2 million square feet and features more than 800 booths of the ag industry’s latest and most comprehensive display of equipment, services, and technology. The event also features free seminars with topics ranging from carbon credits to the latest on sprayer technology. There's virtually no down time from the moment you enter the Kentucky Exposition Center, to the time you leave.

Yardsticks? Walking sticks? Whatever you call them, they have become a fixture at every NFMS. It's always a fun challenge to weave through the sea of attendees carrying goodies in their bags and buckets while you dodge the tapping yardsticks.
