In August, there were dozens of big, little, and medium-sized pieces of IRON on display at the fairgrounds in Bloomington, IL. As always, CropLife IRON walked the Midwest AG Industries Exposition (MAGIE) show to see everything that was on display.

980 Trailer Tender
Adams Fertilizer Equipment
The 980 Trailer Tender with a Kubota engine boasts a larger payload and steeper-sloped hoppers. Designed by the Adams engineering team, each trailer tender is built for the user’s specific needs and built to withstand the toughest environments, according to the company. Newest features include: 49-hp Tier 4 Kubota Engine, Murphy panel, hydraulic auger motor, and hydraulic levers. These features have increased torque and horsepower throughout the tender, resulting in higher productivity, the company says. -

MT900 TA
Ag Systems
Made with 304 stainless steel and a 900-cubic-foot capacity, the MT900 TA is unique among tenders, the company says, for two reasons. First, it’s designed with 50-degree sloped sides, which not only speeds up unloading but helps to speed up clean-out as well. The second is safety — the MT900 TA doesn’t have a catwalk on the outside. Instead, there are windows built into the unit that allow users to monitor their loads from ground level. -

TerraGator C Series
AGCO Corp.
The TerraGator C Series consists of three three-wheel models — the TG7300C, TG8300C, and the TG9300C – and one four-wheel model, the TG8400C. Each is equipped with an AGCO Power engine, which the company says consumes 8% less fuel than previous models. All TerraGator C Series models can be fitted with AGCO’s new liquid system and one of six dry application systems. The boom tree is built with 4X4 tube construction. -

AGI Fertilizer Systems
AGI’s Precision Weigh System is the most accurate blending system in the industry and the only system that continuously compensates for changing densities, says the company. AGI Fertilizer Systems equipment is NTEP-Certified, and instead of maintaining and monitoring meters for every product in the mix, AGI Precision Weigh Tank does it with just one measuring system. The unit is available in different sizes and different valve configurations to make sure each system can fit a user’s needs. -

Trident 5550
Case IH
The Trident 5550 liquid/dry combination applicator is made for three seasons of use and takes just 42 minutes to convert from the Trident 5550 Liquid System to the New Leader NL4500T G4 Edge variable-rate dry nutrient applicator. This sprayer can be equipped with AIM Command FLEX advanced spray technology to automatically match targeted application rates and spray pressures with precision and consistency — regardless of speed or ground conditions — and during turns. Equipped with a 1,400- or 1,600-gallon tank, the Trident 5550 maximizes time in the field. -

SDT-MH 18
Chandler Equipment Co.
Chandler’s new SDT-MH 18 is the latest design in the Chandler Tender line-up. The three-hopper design gives the user a 575-cubic-foot capacity tender. Each hopper has steeper-sloped sides (50 degrees) and ends (43 degrees) for easier clean-up and enhanced feed of material. The feed gates are larger 11X24-inch openings, which eliminates the need to climb on the unit for any clean-out purposes, the company says. Additionally, the discharge and belly auger transition mechanism has been redesigned for smoother material transfer and reduced material spill when disengaging the two augers. Standard features include hydraulic clean-out gates, 304 stainless steel auger/tube, and a single-point grease bank for greasing all grease points at one location. Optional features include Vibco vibrators and Agri-Cover SRT2 tarp systems. -

Circle K Anhydrous Ammonia trailers can transport various configurations of anhydrous ammonia (NH3) tanks, from single 3,000-gallon tanks to a pair of 1,450-gallon tanks. Features of Circle K trailers include 60-inch tire center front axles, a solid tongue with spring lift assist, and 3/8-inch thick poly pivot plate, which eliminates the need for maintenance of grease, according to the company. -

32-Ton Tender

The new 32-Ton Tender from Doyle can handle up to 32 tons of dry fertilizer in its four compartments. Constructed with 304 stainless steel, the unit is hydraulically operated and features a stainless steel flighted auger for unloading product. The 32-Ton Tender can be equipped with either a Kabota 66-hp water-cooled diesel engine or a Deutz 65-hp air-cooled diesel engine. -

LB1 Low Boy Wagon

This unit has been designed to accommodate twin 1,000- or 1,450-gallon anhydrous ammonia (NH3) tanks. There is also an option to accommodate a single 2,000 or 3,000 gallon “shorty” NH3 tank. This unit also comes “standard” with an adjustable rear axle from 92- to 120-inch wheel track. Other options available include brakes, lights, steps, and front fenders. -

Bruin HS1100
Equipment Technologies
Launched in North America in 2017, the Bruin HS1100 is the only sprayer in its class backed by a five-year powertrain warranty. In the field the HS1100 adjusts hydraulically on the go from 60 to 70 inches — making it the tallest rear-boom sprayer available in North America, the company says. The 120-foot steel truss boom covers more acres per hour, and the four-wheel steer and slope compensation keeps the wheels grounded and moving, even on hills. -

T380 Prowler
GVM
The T380 Prowler offers one of the industry’s largest sprayer capacities, equipped with an 1,800-gallon stainless-steel product tank and a built-in 100-gallon freshwater tank. The unit features an optional 120-foot aluminum fold-around booms, on 20-inch or 20- and 30-inch centers, Hypro wet-seal product pump, and new for 2020 a 15-section Altek air shut-offs for precise product placement. The sprayer features Hypro Express Ends and a standard Raven ISO with seamless compatibility with any ISO controller. The Prowler spray systems are rugged, built for durability, and allow operators to stay in the field longer between fill-ups, the company says. -

160-Foot Boom
Hagie Manufacturing
One of the largest items at the MAGIE 2019 show was the 160-foot Hybrid Boom from Hagie. Attached to one of the company’s STS16 self-propelled sprayers, this concept boom is constructed using carbon fiber with stainless steel to resist corrosion while maintaining durability, says the company. Based upon a boom design already being utilized in South America, Hagie plans to field test the 160-foot Hybrid Boom over the next 12 to 18 months before possibly bringing it to the U.S. market. -

24-Ton Tender

The HAYS 24-Ton Tender is designed around specific customer needs to make it the most user-friendly tender on the market, says the company. Both the 24-Ton two and three Compartment Tenders also feature the well-known “HAYS standards,” including greater hopper slope and lower trailer weight. Safety and performance improvements are also continuously being implemented on all HAYS equipment. -

Engage SpreadControl

The Engage SpreadControl for air boom spreaders focuses on providing advanced section control capabilities for machines and is currently being tested on TerraGator AirMax Precision air boom spreaders. The product focuses mainly on a redesigned funnel box that doubles the number of boom sections from two to four. According to the company, the direct value of unit is based on the amount of product savings. When a 70-plus foot boom is spreading product, there is going to be overlap in areas of the field. With four sections, the amount of potential overlap is dramatically reduced. Most air boom spreaders are commercially operated and can apply product over 25,000 acres or more in just one season. Utilizing Engage SpreadControl, operations can achieve additional product savings of 3% to 8%. -

LS475 Liquid System for F4365
John Deere
Adding to application ability of its existing F4365 applicator, John Deere has introduced the LS475 Liquid System option for the unit. Built in conjunction with the company’s Hagie group, the LS475 features a 2,000-gallon solution tank, 300-gallon rinse tank, and a product pump capable of achieving 420 gallons per minute of product flow. Designed with a 90-foot stainless steel boom, the LS475 can nonetheless apply a 95 foot application pattern thanks to the tip spacing it features, says the company. -

Available in rear or optional side discharge, this two compartment 31-foot trailer features the largest, steepest slope hoppers on the market with a capacity of 1,065 cubic feet while maintaining a low center of gravity. The stainless steel hopper frame and hoppers are bolted on. Stainless steel two-piece bolted motor couplers, stainless steel augers, bearings and shafts, hydraulic vibrators, hydraulic hopper and clean-out doors, reversible discharge augers with pressure check, water fitting auger clean-out, are all standard features. This 31-foot trailer features cast-iron suspension and stainless steel rear fenders. Optional are wireless remote control, wireless electric tarps and front stainless fenders. -

Tank sizes up to 1,600 gallons, boom widths out to 135 inches, and crop clearance of 76 inches, plus an extremely quiet cab interior all add up to huge productivity. The unit is ideal for late season application of nitrogen or fungicide. User can add four-wheel steer to minimize crop damage at the headlands. -

The NL5000 G5, with its patented 16-section swath width control technology, lets operators apply nutrients with pinpoint accuracy. By shifting the spinner assembly fore/aft and left/right, and leveraging the conveyor speed adjustments, operators can reduce overlap, decrease nutrient waste, and ensure nutrients are placed only where they need them. -

It’s designed with a capacity of 900 cubic feet (struck) of transport storage, with outputs of 7,000 pounds per minute. Poke holes are standard on all hoppers. A 12- X 30-foot 18-inch stainless steel belt conveyor provides for extra reach, and the unique rubber belt has a 210 ton per hour capacity. -

The 36-foot Charger II-FB semi-trailer is made of 304 stainless steel with an optional Cummins power pack and polished aluminum wheels. The 2019 Charger II semi-trailers have optional Cummins Tier 4 power units. Ray-Man also has a new truck mount tender capable of loading an aerial applicator. Also pictured is the the SS-429 Portable Fertilizer Belt Conveyor, a universal conveyor for moving bulk materials. Users can control the rate of discharge by adjusting the belt speed from zero to 450 feet per minute. The SS-429 conveyor is balanced for a one-man hook-up and its adjustable wheel track provides outstanding stability over the road or through the field, says the company. -

The Vector is available with the New Leader L5000 G5, which offers enhanced spreading accuracy. The 16-section control system features advanced technology to ensure product is placed where growers need it, all while minimizing waste.
