AGCO’s RG700 Sprayer Wins 2013 CropLife IRON Product Of The Year
Each year, CropLife magazine’s sister publication, CropLife IRON, has chosen five of the year’s best and most exciting products to compete in the annual Product of the Year contest. For several weeks each fall, readers vote for their favorite pieces of Big IRON online that were introduced during the calendar year. For the 2013 competition, more than 1,100 votes were cast for the five participants. And when the final numbers were tallied, two products ended up in a
virtual dead-heat for the top spot. So, instead of quibble over the difference of a few votes, CropLife IRON decided to honor two machines in 2013 as co-Product of the Year winners.
One of the co-winners was the RG700 self-propelled sprayer from AGCO Corp., Duluth, MN. Accepting the 2013 Product of the Year trophy at the annual Agricultural Retailers Association (ARA) meeting was Mark Sharitz, director of marketing for AGCO Application Equipment, for the company.
“On behalf of AGCO and the RG700, I would like to thank CropLife IRON and its readers for honoring us with this award,” said Sharitz. “From all the hard-working folks at AGCO who made this unit possible, this means a lot.”
RG700 Features The RG700 offers an AWD Smart Drive System, even weight distribution and Parallel C-channel flex frame, all of which combine to provide consistent field speed without shifting and excellent traction with all four wheels remaining on the ground. The result, says the company, is a smoother ride, less wear and tear on the booms and more precise product application, even under varying field conditions. Other key features include a high-torque engine with 165-hp, AGCO’s advanced selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology that meets EPA Tier 4i requirements and provides better fuel economy and adjustable track widths in two axle configurations (narrow and standard), allowing for multiple track widths to operate quickly and easily through a wide variety of crops, crop heights and field conditions.
“From the ground up, the RG700 is designed to deliver exceptional precision and performance at the top of its class,” said Sharitz. “No matter what the conditions, the RG700 provides all the power and dependability to get in the fields and get the job done.” “It is my privilege on behalf of CropLife IRON to present this Product of the Year trophy to AGCO for its RG700,” said Eric Sfiligoj, editor of CropLife and CropLife IRON. “AGCO has a long history of introducing innovative products to the ag marketplace, and this is just another example of that legacy.”
