John Deere Again Wins MAGIE ShowStopper Award
For the second consecutive year, John Deere was honored at the Midwest AG Industries Exposition (MAGIE) for its new R4045 self-propelled sprayer. The award was presented during MAGIE’s Tailgate Party August 20 in Bloomington, IL. John Deere also won the award for its R4038 self-propelled sprayer in 2013.
At this year’s MAGIE, attendees had the opportunity to vote for the one product featured at the show that literally “stopped them in their tracks to take a closer a look.” The ShowStopper award was started eight years ago as a joint venture between CropLife IRON magazine and MAGIE sponsor the Illinois Fertilizer & Chemical Association (IFCA). The purpose of the award was to recognize the most-traffic stopping product at each year’s MAGIE show. For the past three years, attendees have cast ballots during the early hours of MAGIE’s first day for their favorite piece of equipment.
“The ShowStopper Award was started as a way to acknowledge the hard work that not only goes into making some of the finest products in the ag equipment industry, but how these brands are received by their target audiences,” said Eric Sfiligoj, editor of CropLife IRON.
The all-new R4045 is the newest member of the John Deere self-propelled sprayer line-up. It boasts 346 hp engine and a 1,200-gallon solution tank. Booms are available in 90-, 100- and 120-foot configurations. The R4045 can be equipped with either a 200- or 300-cubic foot dry spinner spreader. It can also be equipped with John Deere Direct Injection, JDLink, AutoTrac, John Deere Section Control, BoomTrac Pro and LoadCommand.
“We want to thank everybody for the recognition two years in a row,” said Doug Felter, product marketing manager, John Deere, during the Tailgate Party. “Thanks to our customers for the continued support, and definitely to our dealers who sell and service our products.”
