Honoring RoGator

AGCO RoGator 1396

For the past four years, readers of CropLife® magazine’s sister publication, CropLife IRON, have had the chance to nominate five products they’ve seen in a given year that are the most special or significant to the marketplace. Then, for one month, these same readers vote to determine which of these five will be awarded the Product of the Year trophy.

For the 2010 competition, there were more than 300 votes cast, with the winning entry claiming victory by a mere 13 tallies. The winner was the RoGator 1396 from AGCO Corp.

“I’m thankful that our fans voted an extra 13 times,” said Lloyd Schmidt, regional sales manager, application equipment division for AGCO, accepting the award at the 2011 Illinois Fertilizer & Chemical Association meeting, in Peoria, IL. “On behalf of all of AGCO’s people who worked on the RoGator 1396, I would like to thank CropLife IRON and its readers for giving us this honor.”

With a 1,300-gallon product tank and 311 hp engine, the RoGator 1396 is designed with a C-channel frame that flexes over rough terrain. The RoGator has a drive system featuring two-piece construction — a hydraulic motor and a separate gear reduction hub. This helps deliver more power to the ground, according to the company.

Nominations for the 2011 CropLife IRON Product of the Year competition will be accepted now until November 1. To submit a nomination, please e-mail the product name and a brief description of why it is deserving of this distinction to [email protected].
