How Are Ag Retailers Responding to Coronavirus?

The CropLife Media team got a call from Mark Waschek at Ag1Source over the weekend, asking us if we’ve heard from ag retailers about their response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. He shared some of what he’s heard, including retailers in Nebraska and Iowa that are limiting or halting all in-person farmer meetings until further notice, and not allowing outside visitors into facilities.

In addition, the coronavirus is revealing how the ag industry is lagging behind other sectors in regards to digital transformation. As a result, the crisis is acting as a key catalyst and highlighting the need for retailers to interact with grower-customers, employees, and prospective employees via web and video conferencing solutions. Ag retailers must recalibrate fast to continue to thrive.
