ARA Picks Berry
The Agricultural Retailers Association (ARA) has named U.S. Rep. Marion Berry (D-AK) is this year’s recipient of the ARA Legislator of the Year Award.
This award is given annually to a legislator that has worked closely with ARA in helping to champion legislation that is important to the ag retail industry.
“Congressman Berry has been an agriculture industry ally in Congress for years,” says Jack Eberspacher, ARA president and CEO. “He is always willing to hear the ag retailer’s side of any legislative debate and work for a reasonable solution to ensure the productivity of America’s Heartland.”
“I am so honored to receive this distinction from the Agricultural Retailer’s Association,” says Berry. “Thanks to the hard work farmers are doing, we are able to deliver the safest and most secure food and fiber supply for our nation. Together we can always accomplish more. I will continue to work in Congress and with the ARA to help our producers get the resources they need.”
ARA says Berry is an unwavering supporter of the agriculture industry. He has worked on numerous legislative issues, such as spray drift, Endangered Species Act reform, disaster assistance, and hours of service agricultural exemption, as well as sponsored legislation that would remove outdated trade restrictions on Russian and Ukrainian urea and ammonium nitrate fertilizers.
