Put Precision Agriculture Into Practice at Virtual Sustainable Agronomy Conference
The 2024 Sustainable Agronomy Conference — a fully virtual event held this July — will help agronomists, industry professionals and growers maximize their sustainability and profitability.
This free conference — held on July 10, 17, 24 and 31— offers practical ways to implement new agronomic practices and technologies. It is organized by the American Society of Agronomy, based in Madison, WI.
Attendees will learn about the drivers, economics, agronomics, environmental benefits, and implementation techniques for sustainable crop production. Registration includes access to all session recordings for 60 days post-event.
This year’s conference, which has the theme of “Equip Yourself to Confront Tomorrow’s Sustainability Challenges,” will cover a wide range of topics, including:
- Visualizing drone data
- Applying advanced tech for precision nutrient placement
- Managing soil salinity and promoting soil health
- Delivering sustainable raw food materials
- Implementing cover crops and conservation practices
- Integrating pest management strategies into farm sustainability
- Guest speakers will represent over 15 companies, organizations and universities.
The conference offers Certified Crop Advisers — agronomists who earn a certification offered by the American Society of Agronomy — the opportunity to earn eight Continuing Education Units.
Each day of the conference focuses on a different theme and features two one-hour sessions that run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. CDT.

July 31: Accelerating the Adoption of Innovative Ag Practices
- Session 1: Adopting a conservation agronomy mindset
- Session 2: Supporting IPM adoption through NRCS conservation programs: Practical experiences from the field
