Harxon Brings Robust Positioning Solutions for Small Robots
In precision agriculture, GNSS technology can provide high precision guidance for agricultural robots. GNSS-based applications are used to support field mapping, planting and seeding, fertilizing, harvesting, weed control, crop assessment, etc. Together with various sensors, such as cameras, multispectral or hyperspectral imagers and lidars, GNSS technology allows the robot to follow predefined paths, avoid obstacles and optimize their movements according to the terrain and weather conditions.
The main benefit of using GNSS antennas in precision agriculture is that they can provide high precision positioning information (up to centimeter level), which is crucial for performing complex and demanding tasks in agricultural environments. Harxon provides two housed antennas for agricultural robots: cost-effective GNSS antenna HX-CSX627A and ruggedized antenna HX-CVX600A. HX-CSX627A supports GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, Beidou, QZSS, IRNSS and SBAS signal reception. Its stable phase center guarantees the accuracy of positioning within millimeter-level. The strong anti-interference ability can endure the harshest operating environments. It’s an affordable solution for general operations. For tough environments with extreme weather, strong shock and vibration, HX-CVX600A is preferred. Besides guaranteeing the stable performance of signal tracking, it is built into a ruggedized IP69K rating housing with optimized structure and metal base. The ruggedized enclosure extends the service time of the positioning system.
The agricultural robot is usually designed with single-antenna system or dual-antenna system. The single-antenna system can only calculate the heading through the moving path of the antenna while the dual-antenna system can obtain accurate heading angle when the robot is in a static statue. Harxon GNSS antennas are compatible with most of the high-precision positioning and heading modules in the market, and they’re customizable according to customers’ requirements. The millimeter level accuracy brought by Harxon GNSS antennas allows the robot to reliably navigate the rows of crops without damaging the crops.
